Borrowing and related services
To borrow items from the library you will need to present your ID card to a member of staff at a library issue desk with the items you wish to borrow.
Alternatively you can use one of our self-service machines to borrow and return items.
You can only borrow if you have a current library record. When your course or contract finishes, you will no longer be able to borrow.
The number of items you can borrow depends on your user category and the type of material you wish to borrow. Check here for details of the loan policy.
Some items, such as reference copies, Quick Reference works, and journals can NOT be removed from the libraries. Reference and QR are marked 'Reference' on the spine (or marked with a red sticker).
If you require material that is not available in University of West London stock, you can request a copy via inter-library loan. Additionally, if you if you are a part-time or distance student or a researcher you are entitled to borrow from other academic libraries. See the information under Co-operative library schemes.
