Materials for assignments

You may think that you can find adequate information for your assignments just by using Google - think again. Google will find plenty of information, but how reliable is it? Using Google is fine in many circumstances, but for your assignments you should make sure you also use good quality academic sources where you can be sure the information is trustworthy. The e-journals accessible through our databases are not available free via the Internet. They are paid for by University of West London to enhance and support your studies. Make sure that you benefit from this resource. Also, not all information is currently available in electronic form. You therefore will need to refer to a range of printed books and journals.

Finding the resources you need is not always straightforward, so follow the links at the side for advice on selecting, locating and using appropriate information resources in various different formats. For a general overview of the type of information covered in these formats, see Getting started. For guidance specific to your course, please see printed subject guides available at your Library, or contact your Subject Librarian.

If you can't find the materials you need, then you may need to request an inter-library loan.
